Round Up • New Releases From DinnerWithJohn, Trapo, Rich Robbins & More

Each week the These Days staff comes across great music from Chicago artists that we could not provide individual features for. In an effort to keep our readers up to date with more of our recent favorites, the Round Up segment provides quick summaries and additional noteworthy content. Check out our latest picks below and feel free to submit a comment if you feel we missed something.

DinnerWithJohn • "Pinstripe"

DinnerWithJohn and frequent collaborator k-iLL are back at it again with a new single “Pinstripe” following up their summer anthem "Sundress Season". The chemistry is clear. These two are on the same wavelength and dialed in. In "Pinstripes" John is at the kick back and vibing with someone, a song that has us holding onto these final "not so cold" days. With this release, it could mean the Pivot Gang member is gearing up to release his highly anticipated “Dinnerwithjohn” project, but no confirmation announced with the release of this single. John is on a roll either way, so don't miss out on the action.

Plain Dave • "Knock"

Plain Dave is back at it with a heated drop titled “Knock”, and the beat represents the song's title well. Throughout the video Dave maintains a locked in mindset as the crew rocks out in the background giving us a piece of his mind. Shot by proven director DGainz, we get blessed with scenic views and shots all the way around. Enjoy this new Plain Dave release and stay in tune for more drops.

Jayaire Woods • "Feel"

One of my favorites, Jayaire Woods,  is back at us with a  super raw track titled “Feel” with producer Nubia setting the tone behind the lyrics. If you’ve been listening to Jayarie, its obvious he’s one to keep checking for, especially after his recent release "Free The Fall”. Stay locked to Chicago's up and coming rap slanger as he continues to spit fire while working toward bigger and better things.

Rich Robbins • "Love in the City"

The curator of self love and the voice between the street and the scholarship aka Rich Robbins returns with a brand new song today. "Love in the City" is the name of his newest track, with production from Roman Flowers. After dropping his last project All.This.Gold three months ago, Rich took a little hiatus, but returns with a switched up sound. "Love In The City" has more groove than his past releases. Check out the new single below.

Trapo • "The Past. (its like 11:03pm)"

After delivering "Average Freestyle" a little over two weeks ago, Trapo spends no time waiting to deliver new music. Earlier in the week he dropped "Say it if you mean that (its like 3:34am)", and yesterday he blessed us with another new song, "The Past. (its like 11:03pm)". Switching up his sound and style with each release is making me super excited for the release of his newest project "Shade Trees". Keep your eyes open for the release, as he took to twitter last night to tell us that the project is finally done.

Wil Akogu • "Hold"

Wil Akogu keeps it moving with another new release, "Hold". Throughout the track, it's evident that Wil is shooting for stars no matter what, obstacles be damned. The beat by Jabari Rayford (aka Jack Red) and Mike Wavvs, with the incredible bass played by Wolfgang, a duo that definitely deserves their props. Stay up for more Wil Akogu as he’s sure to fire off some more jams soon. Enjoy!
