Nina Tech • "Run Around"
Directed by Dad's New Boyfriend Productions
Nina Tech’s been one of many interesting Chicago artists to pop up in 2016, jumping off to a quick start and grabbing attention almost immediately as a rapper with a killer flow, a fully formed sense of herself as an artist, and based on this video, a pretty damn good sense of humor. She released her Lady Tech The EP over the summer and it was one of my favorite projects of the year, a low-key but confident and impressive debut. And before that came “Run Around”, which brings us to today, an addictive song that for many was the first they had heard the name Nina Tech, now with the visual treatment. Anyone who hasn’t introduced themselves to Nina Tech, “Run Around” is a great place to start, capturing Nina’s unique style, delivery and voice as a Chicago rapper, and exploring just how to handle haters. Shout out to "Dad's New Boyfriend" who shot the video, they did Nina Tech's video "Nina Knapsack" as well.
