Owen Bones (Ft. Myrone) • "Grapefruit"
Producer Owen Bones is preparing for something special. The 21-year-old talent impressed last year with the three song The Sabotage EP. He was our first featured artist on the weekly Instrumental Insight and with reason. Complete with a crazy ass video, the short project further introduced me to an artist I only knew from the song “Easy” with Monster Mike. If you feel like going back far enough, you can also check out his three song EP The Headspin, which also dropped last year.
Most recently, Bones released the first single to his upcoming EP. With an epic guitar solo from Myrone, the song “Grapefruit” is electric and alive. It almost reminds me of a Ratatat song, which is a rare thing to say, since nothing sounds like Ratatat. “Grapefruit” should soundtrack your next homework session. If you're out of school and no longer do homework: do your homework!
“Grapefruit” is the first single from the EP Surrender, arriving on February 22. Bones promises features from Mick Jenkins, Kevin Abstract, Thirsty, and High. I'm in.
