Thelonious Martin • ForJayDee

Over the years, Chicago-based producer Thelonious Martin has been paying proper homage and tribute to J. Dilla. The inspiration and influence is an obvious thing to notice when listening to Martin's music. Thankfully, the prolific producer continues to address the connection properly through his samples, his loops, his drums, his everything.

On J. Dilla's birthday yesterday (the deceased producer would have turned 42), Martin decided to remind the world of his tracks that honor the late producer. From older songs like “For Dill Withers” and “Jay Dee Rhodes”, Martin even included the brand new track “For Jay Dee” in the newly formed nine song playlist. Clocking in at over five minutes, "For Jay Dee" is less of a 'donut' and more of a fast-paced EP, one that displays both skill and respect. Let us know your favorite track in the comment section below and look out for plenty of more material from Thelo in the coming weeks and months.
