Famous Dex • 'OhhMannGoddDamm'
Famous Dex is a name that has been popping up with relative frequency over the course of the last few months and today the young MC returns with an exclamation point as to why, delivering his second mixtape of the young 2016 in the form of the ten track offering, OhhMannGoddDamm that hit the streets Sunday. The project comes closely on the heels of Dex's "Hit Em With It" video that arrived last week directed by Cole Bennett.
Here, we get a furtherance of the young up and comer, who released Drippy back in January and has since enjoyed an impressive run of success that included signing to Rich The Kid's Rich Forever label, hitting the studio with Chance and, it appears, dropping off a new collection for his already hungry fans. This one offers up a sinewy look at a handful of singles from Dex that have hit the public over the course of the last few months including "Kanye", "Ciabatta" and the title track "Oh Man Got Dam".
Alongside acts like Lil Yachty, Lil Uzi Vert and a host of new acts, it appears a sort of new wave has arrived influenced heavily by a cross-section of Chicago Drill, Atlanta Trap and several surviving aesthetics from a time past that come together for a decidedly consumable but somewhat unambitious sound that is pervading the game at large. We'll see where things go from here.
