Kembe X remains a fantastic rapper who we always want to hear more of, supply never quite reaching demand. Maybe it's perfectionism, maybe he wants people to keep their ears to the ground. Whatever it is, it's working, as the California via Chicago rapper quickly grabs the attention of fans everywhere the moment he releases a new track. "Excellence" is the title this time around, and excellence is why the Kembe devotees continue to stay hungry.

"Excellence" is without a doubt one of the more unique things you'll hear this week. The first 10 seconds you might think you fell into an indie rock album, but wait a sec on you start hearing Kembe absolutely rip over the sampled guitars, drums and chopped vocals. It needs to be said, whoever produced this did a killer job.  And while the beat may reflect the laid back vibe you find in the western US, Kembe's fearless rapping indicates his heart and music's soul reside in the Midwest.
