Qari & Mulatto • Space Jam
Qari & Mulatto have teamed up to release one of the first great projects of 2017, Space Jam. The Hurt Everybody graduates have been building up to this project for a minute now, and fans can rest assured that it was worth the wait. Space Jam is a low-key affair, but the intensity comes through Qari’s well considered and dense bars, and Mulatto’s production that, at least here, has transitioned from hype to a slow burn that builds a world around Qari’s words. The beats are minimal and hypnotic, and Qari's flow floats even when dropping some hard-hitting word play. It’s fantastic team work, a reflection of a long time spent working together and an example of creating a sum greater than its already great parts. Produced entirely by Mulatto, and with features from Lucki and Sydney August, Space Jam is a cold release that should be heard immediately.
