Njomza • 'Sad For You' EP
With as much as is going on in the Chicago's music scene today, you'll have to forgive us once in awhile if one slips by and I'll take the blame for lacking on this collection from Chicago-based songstress Njomza, who stepped back into the spotlight after some time away with her seven-song collection, sad for you.
The release is the first packaged material we've gotten from the Most Dope-signee since her 2013 Gold Lion debut and arrives with a distinctly more mature feel throughout. Whereas the previous intonations seemed to pull from a place of spontaneity and recklessness at times, here she seems more tempered, unafraid to put her lyrical ability forward and win and lose with its ability. There's few losses on this collection which should prove to set a great foundation for the up and coming act moving further into 2017. Proving to have been one of the more talented artists coming out of the city when the first wave hit a few years back, the time is definitely here for Njomza to make her mark once again. Get a taste of the first semblance of that above.
