Frank Leone is still reveling in Los Angeles following his permanent move to the Left Coast last year. The Illinois’ multi-hyphenate is currently immersed in a bunch of top-secret music and film-related projects, including a script and multiple(?!) albums —which he plans on slowly unveiling throughout the next couple of years.

“GO FOR IT” is the latest sample of his recent creative resurgence and a peak into his covert work. Produced by HWLS and Sebastian Sartor, the woodwind-laced instrumental could’ve easily been featured on a major label album, but finds itself in a more interesting position by accentuating Leone’s free-form rap style.

This cut is a thrilling two-minute experience as Leone is at his most exhilarating, hauling the listener along for a boastful victory lap and a trip back to Chicago, stopping by Pilsen with the eccentric Gary Wilson.

I’m not sure when we’re getting new Leone material or in what form we shall receive it, but music like this can keep me engrossed for months until he presents his next work.
