Red Bull Brings Their Third 'Hack The Hits' Event to Chicago Ideas Week
Red Bull has announced the return of Hack The Hits, which will take place from October 12th through the 15th. This is the third year that Red Bull will be coordinating the 48-hour hackathon where participants collaborate and compete to innovate a never-before-seen piece of music performance technology.
The entire event will kick-off the Chicago Ideas Week, which is meant to bring creative minds from all over the country together. Participants will have the chance to work with each other as well as with influential figures from the tech and music industry. Five teams of three will have two days to create a prototype for a new musical instrumental, which will be judged by the following criteria: usability, musicality and innovation. The winning team will win an all-expenses paid trip to an upcoming music festival.
Applications are open until September 20th to college students in the United States. Red Bull encourages anyone with a background in sound technology, and both software and hardware development to apply. Red Bull will also be covering the costs for travel, food and lodging as well.
