Rich Jones • "Deja Vu"
Releasing his second single from the upcoming EP titled Vegas, Rich Jones reminisces on "Deja Vu". The content may be familiar to Rich, but for listeners familiar with the Chicago emcee for the past several years, his work with producer Ryan Lofty is anything but business as usual for Jones. An unofficial mayor of Chicago, Rich Jones has been involved with the local music community and those driving it forward for some time now, but with the release of these last two singles Rich has shared his musical transition, expressing his embrace for continued growth and willingness to try new things with his art.
His last single "Everything" talked about love lost and "Deja Vu" starts anew, but finds Rich traveling down familiar paths. Like the first drop, this single is radio ready and highlighting Rich's crooning abilities, something we anticipate hearing a lot of on Vegas. Backed by production from Ryan Lofty once again, "Deja Vu" strays from traditional hip hop production, but is extremely fitting for the direction Rich Jones is going. Don't place our multitalented Friend Rich in a box, he's a rapping, singing, man of the people and whether you're familiar with him or not, "Deja Vu" deserves a listen.
