Round Up • New Releases From Taylor Bennett, Twin Peaks, SD & More

Each week the These Days staff comes across great music from Chicago artists that we could not provide individual features for. In an effort to keep our readers up to date with more of our recent favorites, the Round Up segment provides quick summaries and additional noteworthy content. Check out our latest picks below and feel free to submit a comment if you feel we missed something.

Kiraly Payne • Road to Royalty EP

Kiraly Payne gave us a preview of his new EP Road to Royalty about two weeks ago with his Frank Leone assisted single "Annihilation". The six track EP definitely holds up to the hype generated by the first single as Payne’s quick paced syllables wrap around the lackadaisical collection of beats. The first offering of the year for Kiraly is dare I say fit for a king?

Ludlow (Ft. Taylor Bennett) • "Low Lights (Remix)"

Ludlow and Taylor Bennett have done it again and flipped "Low Lights" from Kanye’s latest work The Life of Pablo. Distinctively different from the source but retaining the same vibes, I personally enjoy this version more than the original. Will we ever see the Bennett brothers together on the same track with Kanye? We can only hope.

Nasim Williams • "Grand Avenue"

Treated Crew's very own Na$im Williams treats us (no pun intended) to a brand new instrumental track dedicated to the long and winding road that is Grand Avenue. The track feels like a spaghetti western inspired tune that belongs in Quentin Tarantino’s masterpiece Django: Unchained. Had it been out at the time, Na$im's "Grand Avenue" would have given most of that film's soundtrack a run for its money.

SD (Ft. Mr. Knock It Off) • "Doe Re Mi"

As one of the last true flag-bearers of the Drill movement in 2016, SD connects with Mr. Knowck It Off in the post-apocalyptic sounding "Doe Re Mi." This joint is labeled as a mixtape cut off DJ Honorz' Boss Shit Only Vol. 3, which should be impacting the web sometime in the near future and is set to also feature the likes of Blanco Caine, Ashlee Bankz and New Ara.

Twin Peaks • "Walk To The One You Love"

While we still have to wait a couple of months before Twin Peaks' new LP Down In Heaven is released, the group have provided their fans a nice appetizer with the official video for the single "Walk To The One You Love." The single-shot visual was directed by Ryan Ohm and introduces the viewer to an eccentric side of town populated by even more unconventional characters who happen to be particularly good at creating mischief. Watch the video below and stay on the look-out for new material from Twin Peaks as we approach their album's release date, May 13th.
