D.Graves (Ft. Rich Jones & Lo K) • "Gold"
Chicago's D.Graves has spent the last year beefing up his catalog and scooping up new fans with his articulate raps, superior beat selection and an occasional feature from fellow rising local talents. Following up August 2015's The EP Before The Mixtape: A Prelude to Blazed and Confused, D.Graves and Closed Sessions' own BoatHouse linked for "Windows", the soft and airy first single from the forthcoming Blazed and Confused. Here with another one (Khaled voice), D.Graves and producer Slopfunkdust are assisted on vocals by Rich Jones and Lo K, and Nick Hennessy of the O'My's adds some keys to the project's second single "Gold". Completing a solid one two punch with his first two releases, the April 2016 release is sounding pretty good. If there were a rap draft in Chicago, I'd be keeping an eye on D.Graves, he's definitely an early round pick.
