Towkio • "Tear Drop"
As promised, Towkio returns with a new tune today entitled "Tear Drop". The release follows the announcement that he'll be releasing Community Service 2 on July 7 If this one is any indicator the level he's operating at these days then 2016 just may be as much of a breakout year for Towkio as 2015 was on the wings of .wav Theory. Over production from Garren, the Visvim vet covers a lot ground on this one and does so in a less abstract manner than he's approached content in the past. From reflecting on some of society's saddest issues to observations on family & friends to acknowledging his own contradictions, "Tear Drop" is the best and most direct we've heard Towkio yet. Maybe having something to do with the magic heard here is the fact it was recorded at the famed Shangrila studio in Malibu - potentially when Towkio & Rick Rubin connected earlier this year. With the EP next week, Lollapalooza next month & world wide wav hopefully before year's end, things are lining up nicely for Towkio.
