Denmark Vessey just dropped a new video from his Martin Lucid Dream EP and it’s just what we needed to hear. I don’t want to dive in too deep here, but we all know that recent weeks have been particularly tumultuous times in a lot of American communities. In three minutes, Vessey’s new release seems to fit right into a larger national conversation without focusing directly on any one issue at all. If you just take one look at this video above, you'll see the bigger picture.
Over a beautiful Dilla style beat provided by Exile, Vessey gives us a peak inside his head and how he distracts himself from the troubles in his life. He speaks of candlelit vigils and his Granny’s passing while reminding himself that it’s all going to be OK. He acknowledges that even when you know times aren’t good, it’s crucial to remain positive and to Think Happy Thoughts. Nowadays, we could all take a page from his book.
