Professor Fox (Ft. Logan Cage, ShowYouSuck, Add-2) • "Had To Look"
While many across the country are beginning to learn the names of the artists that have been plugging away here in the city for some time, it wouldn't be without the consistent undercurrent of support from producers and studio owners like Professor Fox who along with a cross-section of local musicians have paced the sounds that have laid the groundwork for much of the sounds that have emanated from the Renaissance. It's with that in mind that we got another new one from Fox, taking his stab at the DJ Khaled of Chicago as he brings together Logan Cage, ShowYouSuck and Add-2 for a dope new one, "Had To Look".
This one brings with it a funky flare that fits on the three rhymesayers really well. For Logan, it presents somewhat of a departure from the more aggressive backing of regular collaborator Flight and speaks to his recent broadening of horizons that has manifested itself everywhere from dress to lyrical content and finds a welcome home alongside Show and Add for a multi-generational wave that spans several spikes in local artistry. The city's got plenty of talent, if you pay attention to anything we write here you already know that, check out a fresh kick-back joint that speaks to just that.
