Sunny Woodz (Ft. Mick Jenkins, Twista & Supa Bwe) • "OnNat (Pull Up)"
Producer and DJ Sunny Woodz has curated a number of locally powerful singles in the past several years, but "OnNat" is setting the bar on a whole new level. Seemingly a loose release, Sunny teams up with long time friend and collaborator Twista as well as a pair of Chicago's new generation of talent for this smooth ode to being "OnNat". Sacramento, CA's Whoarei produced the record and managed to get in tune with 90's Chicago, making west side legend Twista feel right at home. After all, Twista isn't shy around a slow jam.
Neither is Mick Jenkins for that matter. While maybe not his decade, Mick Jenkins fits right into the old school vibe using his baritone voice to convey just how smooth he is to the women in his life. There's unfortunately no new verse from our guy Supa Bwe, but he does finish the song out with some added vocals. His voice has become so distinct over the year that his adlibs and support vocals alone add so much to any given record. This seems to be just something liberated from the vault, but expect the unexpected from Sunny Woodz, he's full of surprises and exclusive music from some of our favorite Chicago voices.
