MFn Melo • "Boomerang"
Directed by Stripmall Productions
MFnMelo is one of the most exciting artists in Chicago at this moment. Under the Pivot Gang flag, the MC finds ways to continuously deliver through truly skillful vocal work coupled with live shows that are so fun and well-executed, they will make anyone a believer. With the long-awaited MeloDramatics on the way, the west side native is gearing up by releasing new material and performing at shows that seem to get more and more high-profile.
The "Boomerang" video is simple, depicting Melo relaxing, creating, smoking, and existing in his city. The lo-fi effects are tastefully done and the video lets the artist’s charisma take over, giving you a sense of Melo as a person while nodding your head to his deep voice and slowed down flow. The video has a classic, 90s era vibe to it that is pleasing, but allows the song to take center stage. The Joseph Chilliams produced beat sounds great, showing the power of Pivot Gang as a true musical unit that builds off of each other. Melo’s stock is rising significantly, and he is a must-see for anyone following the Chicago scene.
