Flesh Panthers • Ride The Blind

Chicago quartet, Flesh Panthers bring forth their latest EP, Ride The Blind. Their 2017 debut, this two track kickstarter adds to the band’s already solid track record. Getting their start on Cobraside Distribution’s, “Sexy Babies Across The Wasteland”, in 2012 and again in 2014; the band has gone through a serious metamorphosis. They scooped up a new bassist by the name of Sean McClure, just in time for their first show at Cole’s last Friday. With hopes of piecing together a tour, the band is eagerly working toward releasing new material. 

The EP features only two new tracks, “Ride The Blind” and “Creation Bound”. The title track leads off like a base hit runner, rounding first after an error on the play. Carrying a solid helping of punk, the songs riff with a tinge of Country Western, the second track especially so. Today, Flesh Panthers show a larger balance of style: Psychedelic Folk-Punk; something more unique. Clearly an organic medium of choice, lead singer Ryan Zombotron shows deeper proficiency as a songwriter. Flesh Panthers are set to take 2017 to the next level. As we look out for their next move, chew on Ride The Blind for a while.
