Notable Chicago producer Martin $ky teams up with striking Colorado producer Autumn Keys for the exquisite new instrumental “Layers”. For some time, Martin $ky has been doing frequent collaborations with talented producers around the country. On “Layers” listeners are taken through, what feels like, a colossal journey of unique sounds that evoke imagery of dark fall nights in the city. Immersive piano keys are used as the base of the track while muffled noises, reminiscent of raking leaves, ooze over the background. Moving on, the tempo begins to pulse with sturdy deep bass lines, adding to the already comforting tone. Then, combining these elements with fluorescent chords and ambiance, Martin and Autumn start to really demonstrate the depth of their versatility, as they cycle through numerous melodies. Winding down, the bright keys repeat, and an angelic voice slowly fades into the darkness, begging you to hit repeat. Not only does “Layers” provide a serene feeling to the audience, it has the ability to reach ears across multiple genres.
