PRODUCED BY YOUNG CHOP

Young Chop might be the only member of Chicago’s 3hunna collective with a clean criminal record. Perhaps the leader of Chop Squad Records and producer responsible for hits like Chief Keef’s “I Don’t Like” is just too busy in the studio. The Southside Drill tastemaker is back with a new track that dropped on his Soundcloud early this week, entitled “Law & Order.”

“Law & Order” is one of those rare and uncommonly bright songs that find their way into a Drill repertoire, with a major key and a sing-song melody not unlike those championed by artists like Lil Yachty. The song still showcases the lawless motifs we know and love from 3hunna gang;

the picture of trapping is painted with a soft palette in this song. A peaceful piano melody scintillating like a VVS diamond, a faint string section accompanies the 808s. If one were to make a Chicago Drill musical this song might play when Young Chop wakes up on a calm, reflective morning, contemplating his next hit.
