Despite reconnecting with Noname to executive produce the critically-acclaimed album, Room 25, Phoelix managed to keep a low-profile for most of 2018. The “beautifully strangeTempo was his last solo release, damn near a year ago, and other than one music video, the promotion of the 18 track-project was subtle. But with an opening slot on Smino’s national tour just around the corner and a brand new single, the Fox Valley native is ready for a bigger reintroduction.

In “Dreams,” the tight-knit production adorns his quaint vocal harmonies, bringing with it an airy and ethereal vibe that molds to the song’s concept as he wistfully sings “shawty why I only see you in my dreams?” Even if it’s a discouraging record to drop during Valentine’s Day, the one-man-collective has at least made an impossible love fixation feel magical.
