Honeystone • "Way She"
Chicago Rock ‘n’ roll band Honeystone released a new single this past February called “Way She.” The song is a reverb drenched minor-key jam about-- well, about the way she walks, the way she talks, and other things she does that rhyme with those words. Honeystone brings the analog nostalgia of a drugged-out, psychedelic 70’s banger, with crooning lead vocals used like a textured, tonal instrument.
The album art for the single is also homegrown, done by Chicago-based artist Shannon Jahrling. “Way She” is the first we’ve heard from the group since the release of their 2017 album Scout’s Honor, along with a handful of singles back in 2017. The single sounds like the kind of music that might inspire you to go back to vinyl, perhaps a harbinger for more new sounds from Honeystone in 2019.
