Chance Teases Future Collaboration

It's that time of year where Future releases an album, the hypes go crazy trying to pretend they know what the hell he's saying and a few months later it's on to something else. As the rest of the hip-hop world reveled in the impending HNDRX project, Chance took to his social media to offer a peek into his own collaboration with the Atlanta crooner, "My Peak".

The song once again finds Chance and Future, who first collaborated together on the former's Coloring Book project, which somewhat reimagined Future's vocal meanderings in a sort of storybook way. Here, things seem to be equal parts both artist as Chano ruminates over whether he's hit his peak. While no one would blame him for having the thought, we're pretty sure there's plenty more ahead of Mr. Bennett. Get into the new work below.

Hebru Brantley Re-Imagines Classic NBA Logos

Chicago artist Hebru Brantley has been making a name for himself for the better part of the last decade, and lately it seems the world has really begun to catch up to what those locally have known for years: Hebru's got a lot of talent. The local continued an impressive run last week by unveiling a series of re-imagined NBA logos just ahead of the All-Star game in New Orleans.

The logos take the general idea from each city's team and uses historical references and otherwise to re-create them in a somewhat more contemporary fashion. For Chicago he eschewed the Bulls to concept around the Chicago Defenders, an homage to abolitionist newspaper, the Chicago Defender, started in 1905 by Robert S. Abbott. You can hardly go a few blocks without seeing a Brantley on some wall or gallery around the city and it appears he's looking to leave his mark on a grand scale. Twin Peaks Announce Live Album

Rock on a big scale is coming back to the city in 2017 with a slew of anticipated albums on the docket and Twin Peaks got things started with the release of Urbs in Horto, a collection of live recordings assembled into a standalone project.

The recordings were taken at both Thalia Hall and The Metro over two nights and arrives just ahead of a full-length follow-up to 2016's Down In Heaven release. Currently, the guys are gearing up to hit the road once again with Post Animals and Chrome Pony. Joe Freshgoods Debuts Nike Partnership

Chicago's own Joe Freshgoods has come a long way since working behind the desk at the original Leaders locations and today stands as one of the pre-eminent faces in streetwear fashion. The purveyor of DBM and co-proprietor of Fat Tiger Works, Freshgoods continued on a spirited run as of late with the unveiling of his Nike LAB patch partnership at the Chicago store on Michigan Ave.

The collaboration continued on a wholly-hometown run for Freshgoods, who used inspiration from around the city to design custom patches using the Bespoke Program, "NikeLab’s personal and customizable design experience". The patches are available exclusively at NikeLab store located at the top of the Nike flagship.

“When I was given the task, I wanted to create symbols that creatively sneak Chicago on people,” he says. Inspired by Chicago slang and iconic neighborhood spots, the Freshgoods patch collection tells the story of the city and its strong streetwear culture. “They don’t talk about us like they talk about New York or LA, but we have Virgil, Don C, and me. We lowkey shaking up the fashion industry.”

Taylor Bennett Releases Tracklisting For Restoration of an American Idol

Taylor Bennett has never been one to do things with anything less than full bravado and it appears his next full-length will find the younger brother of Chance The Rapper taking a big step forward. Appearing somewhat out of the blue and fully in the wake of big bro's recent Grammy wins, Taylor bridged the middle of this week by offering fans the tracklisting for his upcoming project, Restoration of an American Idol.

Having established his name with The Taylor Bennett Show in 2014, shown his capabilities on Mainstream Music in 2015 and really spread his wings on last year's Broad Shoulders, Taylor arrives with his latest work appearing ready for the big time. Aside from the star-studded feature lineup which boasts no less than Lil Yachty, Raury, Jeremih, Mike WiLL Made It and, of course, Chance, the album itself also seems to position Taylor as the next act to ascend the steps to the next level. We'll have to wait and see what's to come, but even Yachty seems excited about the impending release.
