PIVOT Gang Artist dinnerwithjohn Killed in Downtown Stabbing

A 24-year-old member of Chicago's rap group Pivot Gang was stabbed to death on Wednesday in the Fulton River District.

Officers found Walter Long Jr., 24, unresponsive at around 3 p.m., and pronounced him dead at the scene. A fistfight broke out before the stabbing, according to ABC7. Police took someone into custody but have not announced any charges.

Long, known as John Walt and dinnerwithjohn, was in Pivot Gang with MFn Melo and his cousins Saba and Joseph Chilliams. He was getting ready to release his long-awaited Dinner with John project later this year.

"Always quick to put a smile on, or to offer up words of kindness, he was a beloved and respected part of the Chicago music community that will be dearly missed," said Phlash Gordon of Fake Shore Drive.

In July, John Walt released the single "Sundress Season." He will be greatly missed, our hearts go out to the entire PIVOT Family at this point in time. More to come soon.
