Anderson .Paak (Ft. BJ The Chicago Kid) • "The Season / Carry Me / The Waters"
Directed by Anderson .Paak & Chris Le
Oxnard, California's Anderson .Paak took the music world by storm at the top of the year with the release of Malibu. The album sent Anderson .Paak and his band The Free Nationals all over the world to play their music. Revisiting the January release, .Paak and Chicago's own BJ The Chicago Kid work together on a Malibu trifecta.
Three songs for the price of none, .Paak combines "The Season/Carry Me" and the BJ assisted "The Waters" into a short film directed by .Paak himself and Chris Le. The animation in this video is incredible. They just don't make 'em like this anymore. Complete with Donald Trump monsters made of trash, baptisms, and trips to different planets with our guy BJ The Chicago Kid, I'm confident saying you need this in your life.
More BJ The Chicago Kid
Anderson .Paak and BJ The Chicago Kid join for a trifecta of greatness from Anderson's Malibu.
The amount of times I've seen the name BJ The Chicago Kid this past month has reached an all time high. While the rest of the world gets to know this "newcomer", I'm wondering what took them so long.
It's been awhile since we've seen a collection of songs from SaveMoney member Brian Fresco. One thing we have gotten in the little over a year since his release of SoulMoney is a plethora of hot tracks that have dropped with relative frequency as we sit and wait for his much teased and talked about Casanova and PostDrill full-lengths.
Each week the These Days staff comes across great music from Chicago artists that we could not provide individual features for. In an effort to keep our readers up to date with more of our recent favorites, the Round Up segment provides quick summaries and additional noteworthy content. Check out our latest picks below and feel free to submit a comment if you feel we missed something.
The previews of In My Mind continue to roll out ahead of the project's February 19th release date.
We're not sorry for sharing BJ The Chicago Kid's new single.
