BJ The Chicago Kid • "Turnin Me Up"

After an acoustic version of "Turnin’ Me Up" was released last August, we weren’t too sure if we would ever be treated to a studio quality track. After patiently waiting, we’re finally graced with BJ The Chicago Kid’s latest single and music video. Triumphing over its acoustic counterpart, this new version of "Turnin’ Me Up" features an entire jazz ensemble.

"Turnin’ Me Up" is the last single from his upcoming album In My Mind. Let me tell you, this soulful tune is the epitome of old-school groovy and it was well worth the wait. BJ The Chicago Kid’s last album Pineapple Now-Laters was released in early 2012, and from the four released singles from In My Mind and an onslaught of feature tracks, we can truly see the growth in this artist.

BJ's new album features an all-star cast including Chance The Rapper, Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, and Big K.R.I.T. just to name a few. In My Mind is scheduled to drop February 19th.
