oddCouple • "Blinded" (Ft Mick Jenkins & WebsterX)
Last night, Closed Sessions signee Odd Couple was featured on our Yung Creatives talk show at Soho House and explained the story behind his name as a sort of pull of forces from different interests to feelings that come together to make the person we see today. With that in mind, dude dropped a huge single the next morning via Complex that speaks to that exactly, enlisting both WebsterX and Mick Jenkins for his latest track, "Blinded".
This one winds up at the beginning and sort of spirals off immediately into a cacophony of sounds that accent the agile flow of Webster well, adjusting to a more rigid backbone to complement the more straightforward, heavy-handed delivery that gets a bit of a sing-song-y feel on this one, a decided departure from what we've come to know from one of the city's brightest stars. OC has been steadily pumping out talented content for some time and here gets another W on a track that somehow seems perfectly suited for the impending Fall we're only beginning to see these days. Check out the track in full below and expect plenty more on Odd Couple in the coming months.
