Near the end of 2018, Ajani and Boathouse dropped off an indubitably solid, bass-boosting banger titled “Futurama”. Gaining deserved acclaim, fans have been waiting for new content from these two emerging talents. Having numerous studio sessions, they have been eagerly waiting to unveil more content to the world. Starting today, they have dropped off their first single “APEX” off their highly anticipated tape “One Punch”. With Boathouse assisting with the grimy, thunderous production, Ajani has the ability to showcase his ambitious wordplay. With a slight chuckle, Ajani surgically raps “I don’t rush to diss you rappers, it don’t do me no good. I pick apart the fabric plastic and the cracks of your hoods”. Distastefully, Ajani describes the sad reality of media raps being elevated for consumerism. Reciting his patience, he illustrates his desire to take the top spot on the list. Passionately, he raps “Top 5 in the city, and there’s a lot of em here”, reminding us that lyricism will always stay relevant regardless of which faux trend is buzzing.
