Round Up • New Releases From Famous Dex, Khori⁴, $tevie adam$ & More

Each week the These Days staff comes across great music from Chicago artists that we could not provide individual features for. In an effort to keep our readers up to date with more of our recent favorites, the Round Up segment provides quick summaries and additional noteworthy content. Check out our latest picks below and feel free to submit a comment if you feel we missed something.

Famous Dex • "Kanye"

There’s nothing more Chicago than deep-dish pizza…or possibly Kanye West. Famous Dex treats us to a brand new visual for his new song named after the Chicago legend. Shot and edited by frequent collaborator Laka Films. This will have to hold your Kanye fix until Waves or Swish or whatever the hell it’s called is dropped in just a few short days.

Hit-Boy (Ft. Rich The Kid & Donnie Trumpet)

Hit-Boy assembles Rich The Kid & Donnie Trumpet for his latest victory tune, "TD Celebration". Probably not too fond of the Super Bowl outcome after all of the Cam Newton references, but nonetheless this song is still extremely hot. If you’re trying to victory dance or just possibly avoid another L, hit play below.

Khori⁴ (Ft. Will Rise) • "Stand By Me"

Khori4 releases a special song in memory of Will Miner. Miner, also known as Will Rise, was a producer and singer for St. Louis pop-rock group Lovers and Killers alongside Khori4. The duo was scheduled to release a new project together before Miner's passing. As a very fitting homage, "Stand By Me" is an electro/rap remake of Ben E. King’s classic hit from 1961.

$tevie adam$ (Ft. Bryson King & Larry!) • "Shaolin Son"

6 minute videos can be a hard sell, but "Shaolin Son" takes the road less traveled and most out there. It's a visual playground with a true sense of humor and appreciation of kung-fu. And behind all the entertaining trappings is Chicago's $tevie Adam$, with creative raps and an impressive voice on the hook. Take the time and familiarize yourself with $tevie Adam$, a rapper making high flying impressions immediately.

Sunny Woodz (Ft. Wheatie, Roy French & YP) • "Swerve"

Producer Sunny Woodz continues to round up his rapper friends in his campaign for "Sunny Side Up" which is supposed to drop sometime this week. While we wait on his handcrafted debut, enjoy this video for "Swerve". Filmed and animated by Aaron Perkins Jr. of APJ Films, "Swerve" is a little different than what you're used to seeing in a rap video, but I think you'll enjoy it.
