Higher & Higher Taps Joey Purp, Aux Cord DJs, Open4Mat, Soul Summit & More For Virgin Hotel Rooftop Summer Takeover

Higher & Higher, a new party series from React Presents has announced the lineup for their Virgin Hotel summer takeover. The "friendly, summertime, rooftop DJ battle" will feature party curators Aux Cord DJs versus party series Open4Mat, License To Sail (representing the 80s) versus Crossfader Kings (representing the 90s), rapper Joey Purp versus producer/DJ Stefan Ponce and Soul Summit versus Windy City Soul Club.

The party draws inspiration from the concept of a "sound clash" - which historically pits DJ crews up against each other in public indoor/outdoor settings. Sound clashes are most associated with Jamaica, featuring reggae and dancehall, dating back to the 1950s. Some of these clashes even turned violent and resulted in competitors trashing each other's equipment. It's safe to assume this run of parties will end a whole different way - with plenty of rooftop cocktails, downtown views and Summertime Chi. All while featuring some of city's strongest party series, dance nights and DJ crews battling for the dance floor.

Higher & Higher at Cerise at Virgin Hotel starts Saturday, June 2nd and wraps Saturday, September 1st. The event is 21+ with doors at 3:00PM on each of these Saturdays.
